Counterweight Book

Counterweight is a visual exploration of the dualities and inequities within women’s boxing; how a sport built on physical brutality can simultaneously become a place of empowerment, identity, and resistance. Through editorial design, photography, typography, and narrative storytelling, the book examines the tension between femininity and force, questioning the stereotypes placed on women who choose to fight. It highlights the emotional and physical realities of the sport while addressing the broader gender disparities that exist within boxing culture, media representation, and opportunity. Counterweight challenges the idea that strength and softness cannot coexist, presenting women boxers not as contradictions, but as proof that both can exist at once.
